Overview
Apple Podcast is the world's largest platform for discovery and listening of podcasts, a pre-installed mobile app designed to broadcast thousands of podcasts. The product is free and is often the first podcast app for many podcast listeners. With a directory of over 800,000 shows, podcasting culture is influenced by Apple Podcast.

The Goal
Digital content is constantly growing by the day and podcasts are pushing that wave. Popularity of apps like this are always looking to involve and expand. Purpose of this redesign is to explore opportunities for growth of users, rise in activity, and ease of task completion.
I executed the role of UX Designer and Researcher where I was responsible for:
Creating a survey and collecting data,
Comparing platforms,
Exercised participatory design to see specific user needs,
Iteration sprints
Testing prototypes that inspired the final design.
Understanding the Problem
A survey of 36 participants provided insights of what is needed out of their podcast app they use the most. I was able to uncover:
Listeners depend on social media and peers to find podcasts. In addition, the same users want to easily share their favorite podcast/episode.
Categorizing/ creating a playlist is wanted to help organize and personalize their listening experience by listening, collecting different episodes, putting together episodes to eventually listen to, and a list of shows to share with others.
Mission
Create a platform where users can learn about new podcast through friends and pesonalize their listening experience by making playlist of their favorite episodes. Doing so allows more flexibility in use and more confindence in the finding the right Podcast.
The Design
Concept for this design is to be able to merge social media, apple branding, creating playlist, and ease of sharing to the plaform. With the inclusing of following others, users can quickly find new podcast and episodes. Creating playlist allows users to find countless ways to keep track of their favorited episodes, create categories, and so much more.
